Relax, Refresh, Renew
Janeen Allies, LMT - Went to the Healing Arts Center and graduated in 2008 with over 600 hours of instruction in Anatomy, Physiology, Business, and Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.
Modalities include: Swedish, Myofascial Release & Integrative Massage, Assisted Lymph Therapy, Red light & Near -infrared light therapy. I enjoy helping people through massage and bodywork focusing mainly on Swedish and Myofascial work. I also utilized essential oils and CBD oil into my massage sessions.
Integrative Massage - which simply means that I use a variety of massage techniques throughout the massage. Switching to each technique as needed while working on the client.
Swedish Massage - is a system based in the concepts of anatomy and physiology and employs the traditional manipulative techniques of effleurage (succession of strokes applied by gliding the hand over the body), petrissage (lifts, squeezes & pressing of tissues), vibration (continuous trembling or shaking movement delivered by the practioner or an electrical apparatus), friction (massage strokes designed to manipulate soft tissue so that one layer is moved over or against another) and tapotement (includes tapping, slapping, hacking, cupping, and beating). Swedish Massage employs movements that can be slow & gentle, vigorous or bracing, according to the results the practioner wishes to achieve.
Myofascial Release - Myofascial is a specific type of deep fascia that is bound to muscle tissue. It is also the tendons and ligaments that bind the muscle and bone. Broadly defined myofascial massage is any type of bodywork that focuses on the myofascial unit, including muscle, connective tissue, and the neuromuscular junction. Myofascial massage can also include simple self-care suggestions for stretching, self-massage, the use of cold packs and heat and relaxation to improve the effects of massage.
Assisted Lymph Therapy (ALT) - combines the general technique of MLT with a hand held device designed to stimulate the lymph in a more efficient and effective manner. The system involves the application of various energy forms while imitating the MLT technique.
Benefits include:
LED Red/Near-infrared Therapy
During an LED light therapy treatment, chromophores within our cellular mitochondria absorb red and infrared light photons, and convert them into energy. Mitochondria are the powerhouses of cells, responsible for making adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the cells form of energy, and enhancing the consumption of oxygen. Once this red light energy has been absorbed by the body, it is then used by the cells to build new proteins such as collagen and elastin, and to assist with cellular regeneration. Red light gives cells a helping hand, enduring mitochondria reaches its potential by providing it with a full tank of fuel which results in optimal performance for the organism.
